With insight, understanding, and her friendly style, Misti helps each patient and groups of patients by teaching, problem solving, and inspiring new ways of eating and food behavior. In these relationships she celebrates many successes, helps with setbacks and is there for the long term outcome. Her education and wealth of experience in nutrition and behavior modification offer the center and each patient an unparalleled backbone of nutrition support.
With over 15 years of experience, Misti comes to the Khalili Center from her private practice specializing in weight control, weight loss surgery and eating disorders. Her experience ranges from inpatient as well as outpatient care at both Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Saint John’s Medical Center. She is involved in numerous community outreach and counseling programs and projects and is involved in university research and education and writing for the media.
Misti earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz, her graduate degree in Nutritional Science from California State University, Los Angeles and her 3 Year Registration as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at California State University, Los Angeles.
She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Weight Management and Behavioral Health Specialty Groups. Misti is specialized in weight management, bariatrics, and eating disorders. She also has extensive experience working with diabetes, cardiovascular disease and sports nutrition.
A native of California and Los Angeles for over 20 years, Misti spends her free time running and walking, spinning, and doing strength challenge classes. You may also see her shopping with her daughter around the farmer’s market on the weekend…and smelling the flowers!
